Halloween Trick or Treat 2026

Halloween Trick or Treat 2026
October 31st 2026 | 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Halloween Returns to Converse Heights!

It’s almost time for costumes, candy, and one of our neighborhood’s favorite traditions! Converse Heights is preparing to welcome trick-or-treaters for another fun, festive, and safe Halloween!

To help keep trick-or-treaters safe, select streets will be closed to car traffic from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Halloween night, Saturday, October 31. Need a bathroom break? Trinity United Methodist will have its doors open for trick or treaters.

Street Closures

The following streets will be closed to vehicle traffic from 5:00-9:00 p.m.:

  • Mills Avenue (from East Main Street to Glendalyn Avenue)
  • Maple Street (from Mills Avenue to South Fairview Avenue)
  • Rutledge Street (from Mills Avenue to South Fairview Avenue)
  • Otis Boulevard (from Mills Avenue to Connecticut Avenue — Fairview Avenue will remain open)
  • Glendalyn Avenue (from past the Spinx on Pine Street to Mills Avenue)

Barricades will be placed at key intersections. Please see the map for details — orange streets indicate closures, and green intersections will remain partially open.

Trick-or-Treating Details

As always, trick-or-treating in Converse Heights takes place on Halloween night itself. Participating houses will have their porch lights on — no light means no candy!

Street parking will remain available throughout the neighborhood, but please avoid blocking driveways. After parking, we encourage everyone to walk with your children — please DO NOT follow them by car. For the littlest ones, bring a stroller and enjoy exploring our spooktacular neighborhood! Visiting trick-or-treaters and guests are NOT permitted to move or drive around barricades. These closures are in place to ensure everyone’s safety, especially the hundreds of children walking through the neighborhood.

Homeowner Access

Residents living within the closure zones will still be able to access their homes. If you move a barricade to enter or exit, please replace it immediately afterward — this small act helps our volunteers and the Spartanburg Police keep things safe and organized.

Thank you for helping us keep Converse Heights safe and full of Halloween magic each year.

Special thanks to the City of Spartanburg and the Spartanburg Police Department for their continued partnership and dedication to keeping our streets safe and our kids smiling!
