From 9:00 until 11:00 AM Saturday morning we will be beautifying the area around Ivy Street about 150 yards from Main Street. We have cleared enough to see that the banks of this creek are stone -- probably put in back in the 1930's. With a little sweat equity, we can save those trees and turn this eyesore into an asset for the neighborhood.
Today we will put out signs -- one right at the spot where we will be removing English ivy, kudzu, and whatever has overrun the trees and the creek bank.
At 11:00 AM we will cease and reconvene at Panera's for a cup of coffee and a friendly chat.
With a forecast of clear skies, this should be a great morning and a wonderful opportunity to have fun and rub elbows with Converse Heights folks while making the area more attractive.
